“LEARN SPOKEN ENGLISH FROM HOME”. – By MaddaliSwetha

READING:
It is an important skill to be mastered by the learners of English, especially those who want to appear for competitive examinations. The ability to read and understand a given passage is often set as a test in most examinations. In addition to this, regular practice of loud reading improves a person’s ability to speak English. Beginners can perfect the skill of reading by recording their performance in the initial stages and listening to it a few times. The flaws in reading which come out in the process is followed diligently, reading skills are sure to improve.

LET’S START WITH A SMALL EXERCISE:

*Auxiliary verb:
Auxiliary verbs are also known as 'helping verbs'

*Verbs Express Actions:
Verbs are doing words. A verb can express:
A physical action (e.g., to swim, to write, to climb).
A mental action (e.g., to think, to guess, to consider).
A state of being (e.g., to be, to exist, to appear)

AUXILIARY  VERB + NEGATIVE:
 is not – isn’t
are not - aren’t
 was not  - wasn’t
were not - weren’t
have not - haven’t
has not - hasn’t
had not – hadn’t
do not – don’t
does not – doesn’t
did not – didn’t
cannot – can’t
could not – couldn’t
will not – wouldn’t
would not – wouldn’t
should not – shouldn’t
must not – mustn’t
may not – mayn’t
might not – mightn’t
ought not – oughtn’t
need not – needn’t
dare not – daren’t
