OF DBMS:
Database Management System (DBMS)
consist of two phrases:
I.
Database is a collection of inter-related files
II.
Management System
In Short, DBMS is a collection of inter-related files that consists of
collection of related data and a set of programs to access and manipulate those
data. Some of the very well known DBMS are Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL
Server, Oracle, SAP, etc,.
The Basic Management operations are:
1. Searching, 2. Addition
3. Deletion, 4. Updation
The primary goal of DBMS is to provide an environment that is:

Efficient
To use in retrieving and
storing the database information.
Advantage
of DBMS:
1. Redundancy & inconsistent
can be controlled.
2. Simplicity in data access.
3. Correction of Data.
4. Integrity Maintenance.
5. Data security.
6. Time save.
7. Availability of up-to-date
information.
Disadvantage
of DBMS:
1. Lack of flexibility.
2. Increased complexity at
system level.
