WHAT ARE YOUR SIGNATURE STRENGTHS? – By MaddaliSwetha

Signature strengths are the things we like to do and are good at. We find more happiness and satisfaction in our life if it is matched with our signature strengths. I’ll tell you at the end of this post which are my signature strengths. Before going to that let’s have look at this list.

List that you fit in the real life:

1. Love of Learning:

You love learning new things. You find opportunities to learn wherever you go and whatever you do.

2. Bravery: (Brave Spirit or Courage)

You don’t have fear from threat, challenge, difficulty, or pain. You speak up for what is right and what is wrong!

3. Vitality:

You approach life with enthusiasm and energy – For you, life is an adventure.

4. Leadership:

You excel at the tasks of leadership: encouraging a group to get things done.

5. Appreciation: (Beauty and Excellence)

You notice and appreciate beauty, excellence, and skilled performance in all domains of life.

6. Humor: (Playfulness)

You like to laugh and tease. You try to see the positive side of all situations.

7. Creativity:

Thinking of new ways to do things is a crucial part of who you are. You never content with doing something the conventional way if a better way is possible.

These are all the 24 signature strengths according to Martin Seligman. Hence, my top strengths are ‘Curiosity’, ‘Open-Mindedness’ and ‘Love of learning’. How about you?

MY CONCLUSION:

I do remember this, on my final day of MBA project in office. As our MBA teams gathered my boss given task for each individual before project marks declaration of our performance or it is also called declaration day!

They test our caliber for 5 minutes then boss will hand over our results certificate relating to project work.

Before leaving office room I requested my boss I want to make a small survey:

My boss said “swetha you are a HR remember! You always welcome to do any survey in my organization I am happy to hear this from you. Please go on!”

So, I took 2 A4 size white papers from my bag – Made this survey by column and rows list:

Employee serial number,

All employee names,

Working hours,

Break time,

Who referred them?

How they found this company?

What the hidden skills or talents that Employees had other than education and work?

Signature Strength and weakness of employees,

There monthly project task time,

Did they need any performance appraisal by giving cash incentives?

Employee psychology,

Employee dress sense (Informal – colour psychology)

Employee behavior analysis – Work In team or Work individually.

When boss is not there in office how they behave?

How to stop employee using   Facebook and twitter during office hours?

How about brainstorming session through leadership lessons?

Under which platform they work?

Who are the employees willing to do multi-tasking?

How much importance is given to women team mates?

Finally I made my survey successful also submitted to my boss and all employees appreciated me saying “Swetha! You Done a Great Job!


So, at last but not least I know my signature strengths and weaknesses and that have helped me to identify my inner strength also made me to do this little survey.
