REMEDIES TO PREVENT YOURSELF FROM SMOG

“Today’s emerging technologies are tomorrow’s distraction for human being and nature too.” – Anonymous quote

The smoke and fog are combined are termed as smog. Thus, Smog is a type of air pollutant. This kind of air pollution is composed of nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulphur oxides (SOx), ozone (O3), smoke or the particulates among others (less visible pollutants include carbon monoxide, CFCs and radioactive sources).

Health problems or hazards due to smog:

Smog is a temporary climate condition and it is not constant also there will not be any serious death rate in any country or state or area. So, let’s see what are the health problem occur due to smog?

1. Asthma:
Asthma is a chronic disease in lungs. The symptoms would be wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. This asthma is a long term disease in a human body. Pollution in air due to smog is one of the reason for Asthma in many of the patients.

2. Alzheimer:
Alzheimer's is a type of dementia in human brain that causes problems with memory loss, thinking and behavior. There are lot of chances to get Alzheimer due to smog.

3. Low birth weight in pregnancy time:
According to a study published in the Lancet (general medical journal), even a very small (5 μg) change in PM2.5 (particulate matter) exposure was associated with an increase (18%) in risk of a low birth weight at the time of delivery.

4. Breast Cancer:
Recent studies are showing that smog can be major risk factors for breast cancer. In the year 2016, the Ontario Medical Association (Canada) announced that smog is responsible for an estimated 9,500 premature deaths in the province each year.

Prevention from smog:

1. Drive less on the road. Try to walk, avoid bike, carpool, and use public transportation whenever it is possible.

2. Take care of your cars. Getting regular tune-ups, changing oil on schedule, and inflating tires to the proper level can improve gas mileage and reduce emissions and avoid air pollution.

3. Fuel up during the cooler hours of the day/night or early morning. This prevents gas fumes from heating up and producing ozone.

4. Avoid products that release high levels of VOCs (Volatile organic compounds). For example, use low-VOC paints colours.

5. Avoid gas-powered yard equipment, like lawn mowers. Use electric appliances instead of gas.

6. Pollution masks while going out of the home or office/ schools etc.

Conclusion:

In November 2017, Delhi was caused by smog. And smog will be there for 3 to 5 months only and not to worry too much. Smog in India is the first time happening in history where Delhi population 18.98 million.

Supreme Court banned crackers on Diwali in Delhi and NCR

Diwali is a festival of lights where crackers are for enjoyment for kids and adults. But the Supreme Court on 09th Oct 2017 Monday suspended the sale of firecrackers in Delhi and NCR till November 1, 2017. (The full form of NCR is National Capital Region which consist of National Capital Territory of Delhi also Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh areas)

Why Ban only Hindu festivals like Diwali?

Delhi is facing air pollution in 365 days such as vehicle emissions, industry, construction and residential fuel burning.

According to Wikipedia - For traffic related sources, growth in vehicle numbers and mileage seems to outpace efforts to reduce emissions. Contrary to popular belief, most of the air pollution in Delhi is not due to vehicular traffic. Main contributors to particulate matter in the PM10 range, as a recent study shows, are road dust (50%) and industry (23%)--vehicles accounted for only 7%. Among industrial contributors, power plants within Delhi city limits were the main culprits.

But why Supreme Court banned on Diwali crackers? This shows like disturbing human sentiments of Hindu people on Hindu festival day in India.

History of Diwali festival:

In northern India, Hindus across in the India as well as the world celebrate Diwali in honor of the return of Lord Rama, wife Sita, brother Lakshmana and lord Hanuman to Ayodhya from exile of 14 years after Rama defeated Ravana. To honor and celebrate Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman returning from Sri Lanka and to illuminate their path, villagers light Diyas to celebrate the triumph of good over evil.

And Southern India’s celebrates Diwali as the day that Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura. And in western India, the festival marks the day that Lord Vishnu, the Preserver (one of the main gods of the Hindu trinity) sent the demon King Bali to rule the nether world.

Loss of Diwali crackers business to traders:

1. It is said that on 11 Nov 2016 – ban on selling crackers and this was lifted on 12 Sept 2017 by the Supreme Court. But it was re-implemented on 9th Oct 2017.

2. Customers are unhappy with the ban on Diwali crackers.

3. Businesses are closed in crackers streets until November 1st 2017.

4. Indian made Diwali crackers doesn’t bring any sound pollution for kids as well as adults.

5. The loss is around in hundred of crores business of whole scale dealers, etc.

My conclusion:

1. Supreme Court can ban some crackers that are in high in sound, big pollution like 1000 wala crackers in streets, Chinese crackers, etc.

2. Supreme Court can ban New Year celebrations of firing crackers on road.

3. Supreme Court can ban the people who fire crackers after 10pm on roads.

4. Supreme Court can ban crackers in all India not only Delhi and NCR.

5. If prior intimation about ban of crackers is given. Then the business people won’t buy the crackers for selling purpose and manufactures will not manufacture the crackers. They would not have losses.

MY JOURNEY TRIP TOWARDS HYDERABAD – ARUNACHALAM – SRIPURAM - TIRUPATI – SRIKALAHASTI – HYDERABAD

     {5Days – 4 Members, Family Tour, 3 States, 1800 Kms above – August 2017}

At first, we started our journey in train from Hyderabad to Katpadi railway station. Form Katpadi , We went Arunachalam by bus. And it took 20 hours to reach Arunchalam place from Hyderabad. Also I have updated my quora.com while travelling only.

In Arunchalam, no one speak English and it is bit hard for us to understand Tamil Language as we are Telugu speaking people. In Arunachalam we stayed in Siva Sannidhi cottage which was allotted for telugu people mostly. Which is opposite to Ramana Ashram.

Arunachaleswar Temple

{Arunachala refers to the holy hill at Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu. The hill is also known by the names Arunagiri, Annamalai Hill, Arunachalam, Arunai, Sonagiri and Sonachalam.}

We all visited the Arunachaleswar Temple and worshipped the God Shiva. After that we did Giri Pradakshina and covered 8 Shiva temples during Giri Pradakshina. For doing this we have travelled nearly 14 to 16 kms around the Ananthagiri hill. Those temples are Indra Lingam, Agni Lingam, Yama Lingam, Niruthi Lingam, Varuna Lingam, Vayu Lingam, Kubera Lingam and Eesaniya Lingam in the morning time and at night time my mother and brother did giri pradakshina in full moon day on foot.

After arunchalam place we travelled in a car to Sripuram Place visited Golden temple and worshipped the Goddess Sri Maha Lakshmi. Also saw the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University at Vellore. After Sripuram we have catched train for Tirupathi.

Sripuram Temple

{ The golden temple complex inside the Sripuram  spiritual park is situated at the foot of a small range of green hills at Thirumalaikodi village, 8 km from Vellore in Tamil Nadu, India. This temple is gilded with 1500 kg of pure gold; double the 750 kg gilding of the Golden Temple at Amritsar.}

When we reached Tirupathi the climate is not good. So, security women told us to catch bus to Tirumala. It took 40 minutes to reach Tirumala Hills. My brother travelled to Tirumala by walk through steps. He took 3 hours to reach Tirumala Hills.  And we all stayed in Vasavi Satram at Tirumala.

We had Swamy darshan twice in 9 hours during the day through special entry tickets. After our darshan we did local tour in car at Tirumala and seen Luxury Cottages of famous cine actors and business people like Anil Ambani and Mukesh Ambani etc. Due to tight schedule we were unable to cover universities which are located in Tirupathi.

From Tirumala, we went directly to Kalahasthi and stayed in a Hotel. Next day morning we saw the Srikalahasti Temple. Also we did Rahu and Kethu pooja and left our pooja clothes there and return back to Hyderabad.
