Happy Ugadi to all my readers and viewers of my blog.
In general, new year starts on January
but to telugu people of two states - Andhra Pradesh and Telangana starts on
march that is on Ugadi festival.
Ugadi festival is a Hindu traditional
festival that is the new year to south Indian people. According to the Hindu
calendar, Ugadi is celebrated on the first day of the “Chaitra” i.e Chaitra
Shudda Paadyami or Chaitra Masam - month.
In other words, the meaning of
Ugadi is defined as the beginning of the year.
Now I discuss about how I celebrated
this Ugadi festival day:
Early in the morning I wake up
and had an oil message to my body and hair. After that I had a head bath and
dressed up in a new dress. Did puja and ate Ugadi Pachadi – see the image and ingredients
of Ugadi Pachadi.
Ugadi Pachadi Ingredients:
- Water
- Tamarind
- Mango
- Neem Flower
- Jaggery
A
small Note:
Ugadi
Pachadi differs according to people who live in state, city, town, village, tribal
areas.
Some
add salt, honey, red chilli powder, green chilli, sugar and sugar cane. Here
the above I shared ingredients of Ugadi Pachadi which is the right way
and used in puja.
Later I went to a temple.
Remember in this festival lord Vishnu and his avatars we worship on this
day.
Morning, I went to lord Sri Rama
temple,
Afternoon I did lord Krishna
mantra prayer for 108 times. See the mantra below:
Hare
Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama
Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
And in the evening, I went to Lord
Venkateshwara Swamy temple saying Govinda, Govinda, mantra. Seen God. Stood there
for 2 hours, did Vishnu sahasranamam.
Later Ugadi panchangam 2023 started in the temple. This year my sun sign horoscope future is very good.

On this day, the New Panchangam will begin. Panchangam means Hindu Vedic Astrology of Sun signs. See the images below:
